Truscott was subsequently promoted to command all forces engaged in the operation, after the initial commander, Lieutenant General John P. Lucas proved to be indecisive during the battle.

Its possible that in the company Truscott spent time with (Co B, 1st Bn of the 502d Infantry)the majority or even all were West Pointers, but overall in the battalion and brigade it probably runs between 20-30%.
It was closer to the time frame that Truscott wrote about and although he got the logistics right he was clueless about the Long Gray Line.
