A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) | Movie Review
Lucinda Ballard, besides giving Brando his torn T-shirt look, inspired by road-workers whose sweaty garments outlined their physique and gave them a powerful animality, had commanded Tennessee Williams's confidence when she used the phrase 'a terrible daintiness' to describe how she felt Blanche should be dressed.
Later, Vivien showed Lucinda over the house and her guest noted the plethora of Olivier mementoes, dozens of photos of him, even the affectionate notes he and Vivien had exchanged on some notable occasion now displayed under the glass top of her dressing-table.
But Lucinda Ballard did notice that Vivien was very 'on edge' when she returned to the house that she and Olivier were renting in Hollywood after the day's shooting.

 Florence Klotz
It's not often that an award winner actually works with the award's namesake, but that's how costume designer Florence Klotz began her career; she was an assistant to Irene Sharaff on The King and I, followed by A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Of Thee I Sing, Do Re Mi, Flower Drum Song, and Juno.
Harold Prince's It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's Superman was the first show she designed on her own at the urging of Ballard who essentially forced Klotz out of her design studio to strike out on her own.
Get out and do your own designs.’ And I said, ‘I don't want the responsibility.’” That last production on which she assisted Ballard was a little known show called The Sound of Music.

CANOE -- JAM! Music: CD Review: DMB: Stand Up   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
Sprinkled with Carter Beauford's pulsating drums, Stefan Lessard's noodling bass, LeRoi Moore's sexy tenor sax, Dave Matthews' gritty vocals and Boyd Tinsley's sizzling violin, tracks like "Crash" and "Don't Drink the Water" have insinuated their way into the musical database of all the leftover Deadheads and then some.
But after allowing producer Glen Ballard to trim the group's meaty jams on 2001's saccharine "Everyday," and following it up with the melancholic musings of 2002's "Busted Stuff," fans wondered if they lost their way.
Not to worry, their new album "Stand Up" delivers the goods.
