Ludim was known throughout the San Fernando Valley as a woman passionately committed in providing access opportunities for countless families.
Ludim understood the value of higher education for the underserved and underrepresented families and saw the benefit of reaching out to these individuals early on, by planting the seeds of going to college.
Ludim will be missed by all who knew her and remembered for her legacy and dedication to higher education and access.

Ludim is the Hebrew term for Lydia used in Jeremiah and Ezekiel.
In the Biblical Table of Nations they were said to descend from Lud, son of Shem, son of Noah.
Ludim are not to be confused with another identically named group descended from Mizraim, which is thought to be a typographic error for Lubim, a reference to Libya.

 Cannibals in Canaan
At the root of my predicament are several traditions, reported in the Talmud, concerning individuals who fell into the hands of beings known as "Ludim."It is clear in each of these cases that the victims were very distressed, and wanted desperately to extricate themselves from their predicament.
On one occasion when a disreputable person had sold himself to these Ludim, Rabbi Ammi laboured to come up with a pretext for ransoming him, in spite of the fact that the victim was a notorious sinner with a predilection for consuming non-Kosher food.
Underlying Rabbi Ammi's dilemma was the assumption that the sinner's association with the Ludim placed his life in imminent peril.

In Gen 10:13 Ludim appears as the firstborn of Mizraim (Egypt), and in 10:22 Lud is the fourth son of Shem.
Accepting this emendation, the passage agrees with Jer 46:9, where the Ludim are spoken of with Kush and Phut as the allies of Egypt; and also with Ezek 27:10, where Lud is referred to with Persia and Put as soldiers of Tyre.
Lud, again, is mentioned with Ethiopia (Gush), Put, all the mingled people, Cab, and the children of the land which is in league (or, margin "the land of the covenant"), which were all to fall by the sword (Ezek 30:5).

According to this account, some six or seven nations descended from Mizraim were destroyed, clearly a major conflict that would have had profound and far-reaching repercussions on the world of those times.
Josephus lists those nations that were destroyed as the Ludim (see 27), the Anamim (see 28), the Lehabim (see 29), the Naphtuhim (see 30), the Pathrusim (see 31), the Casluhim (see 32) and the Caphtorim (see 34) (see Map 3).

Our p'sukim tell us that Mitzrayim fathered the Ludim, the Anamim, the L'havim, and the Naftuchim.
The TIPCHA under P'LISHTIM seems to favor the pause, which favors the opinion that Kaftorim did come from Mitzrayim, as did Ludim, Anamim, L'havim, Naftuchim, Patrusim, and Kasluchim.

(strife), (Genesis 10:13; 1 Chronicles 1:11) a Mizraite people or tribe descended from Ludim the son of Mizraim; also called Lydians.
It is probable that the Ludim were settled to the west of Egypt, perhaps farther than any other Mizraite tribe.
Lud and the Ludim are mentioned in four passages of the prophets -- (Isaiah 66:19; Jeremiah 46:9; Ezekiel 27:10; 38:5) There call be no doubt that but one nation is intended in these passages, and it seems that the preponderance of evidence is in favor of the Mizaraite Ludim.
