Luis Llorens Torres (May 14, 1876 - June 16, 1944) born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, was a poet, journalist, playwright, and politician.
Llorens Torres went to Spain after he finished his secondary studies on the island.
Llorens Torres died in Santurce, a sector of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

A multi-talented gentleman, Luis studied in Spain and became a lawyer by profession but also dwelled into politics and drama as a writer.
Lloréns Torres founded La Revista de las Antillas, a literary publication in 1913.

Following reports of a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of three men at Luis Llorens Torres housing project on Monday, New Progressive Party (NPP) gubernatorial candidate Pedro Rossello’s Campaign Platform Committee Chairman Charlie Rodriguez said on Tuesday that Puerto Rico needs to reinstate Rossello’s iron-fist policies to fight crime.
On Monday, three men were killed and five others were wounded during a shoot out at Luis Llorens Torres public housing project.
The 1,600 agents will be assigned to work at Nemesio R. Canales, Luis LLorens Torres, and Julio Selles Sola public housing projects in San Juan.

The Allies Against Asthma in Puerto Rico--a coalition formed to develop an integrated community-wide asthma control and prevention system, including changes in practices and policies within and among sectors--is now ready to begin the first year of a 3-year intervention project in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
During this phase, a coalition lead by RAND, University of Puerto Rico, and Luis Llorens Torres Community Council will work together to achieve the outcomes of decreased asthma-related hospitalizations, emergency department visits, and school absences; increased quality of life for children with asthma and their families; and control of symptoms.
The implementation objectives are four-fold: (1) empower children with asthma and their families/caregivers; (2) increase community awareness and knowledge about asthma; (3) improve access, quality, and financing of asthma health care services; and (4) improve collaboration between health care systems, schools, child care centers, and other private and public community agencies.
