 AskMen.com - Luke Wilson pics
Luke Cunningham Wilson was born in Dallas, Texas on September 21, 1971.
Luke played the straight man to Lawrence's "con man turned cop," and the role of sidekick to a crazy partner would become a recurring theme for Luke, with good reason: He excels at remaining believable when everyone and everything around him is going wild.
Luke followed this role up with notable performances in 2000's Charlie's Angels and 2001's Legally Blonde, in which he played Reese Witherspoon's love interest with enough style and charm to make men forget they were watching a romantic comedy about a ditzy lawyer.

SPLICEDwire | "Alex & Emma" review (2003) Rob Reiner, Luke Wilson, Kate Hudson
In "Alex and Emma" (this week's alternative to "The Hulk"), she's a drab chatterbox stenographer who spends the whole picture second-guessing a writer's-blocked novelist (Luke Wilson), who has hired her to take dictation as he brainstorms his new book.
The movie opens with a ham-fisted introduce-the-gimmick episode in which Wilson (who was in "Old School," another of this year's worst) is comically roughed up by Cuban loan sharks coming to collect on a $100,000 loan.
Wilson also plays the book's main character, a wishy-washy failed writer who falls for a snooty, sultry French aristocrat flapper (Sophie Marceau) while tutoring her children.

Wilson appeared in Anderson's two previous films and is the brother of Owen Wilson.
That aspect of Wilson's personality is reflected in the film in the romantic longings Richie has long harbored for his adopted sister Margot, and in the fact that the character pursues a solitary hobby - he raises falcons he keeps in a coop on the roof of the family's house.
Luke also had a small role in their next collaboration, Rushmore, as a young doctor who gets caught up in a very awkward dinner party and ends up on the receiving end of the jealous anger of Max Fischer (Jason Schwartzman).

However, Wilson is far better known as an actor, usually appearing in rather bland but commercially successful "buddy flicks" like Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights with Jackie Chan, I Spy with Eddie Murphy, and Starsky & Hutch with Ben Stiller.
Of the movies' Wilson brothers, Owen is "the funny one", instantly recognizable by his complicated, oft-broken nose, and Luke is "the handsome one", seen as more of a serious actor.
Wilson co-starred with Ben Stiller in two comedies, the borderline brilliant Zoolander and the comparatively pedestrian Starsky & Hutch, and taken smaller roles in several other Stiller flicks.

Wilson family values   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
Luke and Owen Wilson have never been inside the Paramount, mildly odd for Dallas natives who spend so much time in Austin, either making movies like "The Wendell Baker Story," which was shot here and in Wimberley last fall, or tearing up Club DeVille, inspiring jaw-slacking stories of mischief that have become lurid local lore.
Luke, 33, plays the young man of the title and Owen, 36, plays the sleazy head nurse at a retirement home, whose residents include Harry Dean Stanton, Seymour Cassel, Billy Joe Shaver and Kris Kristofferson.
Luke took the script for "The Wendell Baker Story" to producer Mark Johnson, who produced the Austin-made movies "The Alamo" and "Home Fries," which starred Luke and Drew Barrymore (and tanked).

CNN.com - Luke Wilson gets fraternal in 'Old School' - Mar. 3, 2003
The lead role is a change of pace for Wilson, who usually plays second fiddle to his sexy costars (in 2000's "Charlie's Angels" and '01's "Legally Blonde") or to his quirkier big brother Owen, 34 (in '01's "The Royal Tenenbaums").
As for Paltrow, 30, his costar in "The Royal Tenenbaums," Wilson praises "her goofy sense of humor." Notes Kate Hudson, Wilson's costar in the upcoming romantic comedy "Loosely Based on a True Love Story": "He's chosen wonderful women to be with, and he doesn't hold a grudge."
That easygoing quality is one that Wilson learned early on as the third son of Robert, 61, an advertising executive, and Laura, 63, a photographer.
