  Bette Midler: Other Albums
This was a compilation album of various artists who had left lasting impressions at the infamous New York night club, "The Bitter End." Bette Midler's version of "Daytime Hustler" from her album "The Divine Miss M" was included.
In 1975, Bette began recording several tracks with Motown producer Hal Davis (Jackson 5, Aretha Franklin) for her third album, originally to to be titled "Miss M Goes Motown." It's been said that Bette didn't like the songs that she had done with Hal and didn't want to release then.
The album was originally intended to be a concept album, which was going to feature many songs that Bette herself penned.

 Lullaby of Broadway - Film - Entertainment - theage.com.au
For every Broadway lullaby that hit the right notes as a Hollywood melody - like Grease, which segued from stage to screen in 1978 and scored double successes - there was a chorus of very off-key failures.
The theatre world heaped 12 Tonys on them in 2002 and Broadway enthusiasts paid as much as $300 a seat to see them in a brief return run a year later.
Broadway fave Bebe Neuwirth, for example, was at least as obvious a contender for her role, Velma Kelly, as Lane and Broderick would be as Bialystock and Bloom in the stage-to-screen transition of their show a couple of years later.

 ALLEGRO MUSIC - Children's Music
Aimed for children ages pre-birth to five years old, Lullaby Themes for Sleepy Dreams is composed of lilting, folk renditions of traditional and non-traditional lullabies, and features the silken, soprano voice of Susie Tallman accompanied by quiet acoustic guitar and piano.
Lullabies for Sleepy Eyes, the second release from Susie Tallman, proves once again that a lullaby can be comforting enough to calm a child and at the same time complex enough to please a parent.
Although the lullabies are aimed for children one to five, the familiar, soft melodies work wonderfully for infants as well.

Doris Day : Lullaby of Broadway - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-10)
Despite its familiar title, Warner Bros.' Lullaby of Broadway was an original movie musical, albeit one in which nearly all the songs were vintage titles owned by the film company.
Warner did not have a record company, so there could be no soundtrack album, but Day had a contract with Columbia Records, and she had enjoyed considerable success the previous year by recording tie-in albums from her films Young Man With a Horn and Tea for Two.
It was just Day, accompanied by the Norman Luboff Choir and the Buddy Cole Quartet on the title song, "Fine and Dandy" (which was not in the film), and the newly written "I Love the Way You Say Goodnight," and by an orchestra conducted by Frank Comstock on the rest.

When the album was completed, the group was unable to obtain distribution in either the UK or the US, but Banks and Foxx continued to record as "Empire" with an assortment of other backing musicians.
But the album's main attraction is its extensive instrumental work, comprising sunbursts of effects organ, Mellotron strings, a few baroque electric piano embellishments and even rudimentary synth riffs and glissandi, giving the music a both sunny and spacey feel that takes it from pastures green to gulfs interstellar.
Some of the earliest albums have some passages that hint at a rock rhythm, but for the most part the albums have a heavily orchestrated sound, all created using the standard guitars, basses, keyboards and drums.

Overall, the album is a 50/50 affair that unfortunately balances each dazzling moment with one that is merely adequate or worse.
The album could have included any number of the half dozen or so numbers which are included on the upcoming VHS and DVD release but are missing from the disk.
Both albums are among the most languid jazz CDs I have ever heard, thanks in no small part to the all star ensemble Feinstein has assembled, which includes jazz legends Marian McPartland and Jay Leonhard.

Doris Day's ascension to stardom in 1948 was a bonanza for both Warner Bros. Pictures, where she had a film contract, and Columbia Records, where she had a record contract.
Tea for Two was a loose adaptation of the Broadway musical No, No, Nanette, while Lullaby of Broadway was an original script packed with old songs to which Warner owned copyright.
So, this album is basically a set of Day performances of old show tunes, accompanied either by an orchestra or by a small group (the Page Cavanaugh Trio or the Buddy Cole Quartet), with Gene Nelson (who appeared in both films) turning up occasionally during the first half, often as a tap dancer.
