Government soldiers captured a Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) camp and clashed with the Muslim separatist rebels in the south in the latest incidents to mar a unilateral ceasefire called by the MILF, a military statement said Sunday.
Civilians tipped off the military on the location of the camp on the outskirts of Munai town, Lanao del Norte province on Friday, the statement added.
On the same day, about five MILF members fired on a camp of the military in Lumbatan town in neighboring Lanao del Sur province but soldiers and government militiamen drove them off, according to the statement.
