For a start, the 13 songs are a step up from the material on the ‘Just Another Band’ album — A sixty-minute set of female-vocal led anthemic compositions that will have you joining in the choruses after just a play or two, and with the inclusion of several corking instrumentals along the way.
The first song, ‘Hold On’, has a mix of strong, catchy choruses allied to strong female vocals, and instrumentally, there’s a great sense of dynamics at work, using electric and acoustic guitars, surging riffs and clipped rhythms restrained to crunching drum work.
Overall, a startlingly great talent that deserves far wide recognition on the strength of this album that doesn’t have a bad track on it, and is one that many fans of AOR and, to an extent, prog rock, will enjoy and treasure for many years to come.

The lump was now the size of a small marble, unyielding under pliant flesh.
After examining Jean's right breast, she numbed the area with a local anesthesia and inserted a needle to see if the lump might be only a fluid-filled cyst.
Oh, she could hear that the doctor was still talking, hear the woman's voice forming syllables that formed words that formed sentences and sense.

Lump was a fun, fast thinking and odd sort of rock-alternative song.
This song was less about having fun than singing about a cat.

The opening song 'Fishin for Sympathy' is introduced with tribal sounding drums, intense guitar, and a scream.
This melodic and weighty song draws many vocal and musical similarities to Aussie band, Fullscale and is a great first impression to the CD.

minstrel: Song lyrics I'm trying to find
The plot of the song is about a man who takes his son to a pub, finds out the son already has been drinking, and decides to break him of the habit by getting him as sick as can be from the experience, which of course doesn't work.
The humor of the song is that if they skip a pub by accident, they have to start all over.
I do know that some of the problem I'm having with the song is it makes references to British beers and pubs and so I don't know exactly what is correct.

Although every single song on this CD is excellent, this cannot (at least it shouldn't) be considered a greatest hits album.
It was the reason, along with "Lump", I became a fan of The Presidents Of The United States Of America.
On first listen, their songs are funny stories about surreal things, but if you continue to listen, they take on a whole new meaning.

Where the rest of their Seattle brethren traded in heavy guitars and heavy angst, the Presidents rejected torment for humor, writing short, simple, and absurd punk songs that relied more on goofy attitude than sludgy riffs and tormented screams.
It was a formula that worked, as the group's self-titled debut album became a double-platinum record much to the surprise of many critics, music industry insiders, and the band itself.
"Lump," followed by the radio hit "Kitty" in the fall and the radio/video hit "Peaches" in the spring of 1996, propelled the album to a surprise Top Ten, double-platinum status.

This song was a fixture at Tower Records on South Street in Philadelphia, where I worked during the broiling summer of 1991.
I used to play this song a lot in my hot airconditionerless room, sitting in front of the fan, feeling as weary and unsettled as Michael Stipe sounded.

However, keeping the split as they are now avoids two official changes in nomenclature the lump and the re-split in the future, this is why I vote no. We should make it clear in our notes that none of us are happy with either option and more research is needed to resolve this taxonomic issue.
However, if I had to boil it down it is that I do not think that lumping these taxa is the conservative stance on the matter, as we all seem to agree that more than one species is involved here.
Lumping these taxa is historically conservative, it takes us back to another plateau of knowledge and understanding in this group but the move itself causes instability at the present time and that is not a conservative move from the viewpoint of decreasing nomenclatural volatility.

But recent outrage that Linda's family are in desperate poverty, despite the song having over 170 cover versions, has prompted legal action, backed by both Gallo themselves and the South African government.
