Luna 2 was the second of the Soviet Union Luna program spacecraft launched in the direction of the Moon.
Luna 2 was similar in design to Luna 1, a spherical spacecraft with protruding antennae and instrument parts.
Luna 2 was instrumented with a three component fluxgate magnetometer, similar to that used on Luna 1, but with the dynamic range reduced by a factor of 4 to -750 to +750 nanotesla s (gammas) so that the quantization uncertainty was -12 to +12 nT.

La proporci6n de aves nohadas al observar la luna decreci6 consistentemente con aumentos en distancia.
Our findings, that within a distance of 2 km 20-40% of the birds cross- ing the disk of the moon were missed, confirm observations by Nisbet (1963b), who showed that birds crossing the edge of the moon are often missed.
Exper- iments performed by Nisbet (1963b) with 20X telescopes, in which "war- biers" could be seen regularly up to 2.6 km, were not in agreement with our results, even less so the Russian results, which provide detailed height distributions up to 6 km agl (Dolnik 1990).

This specimen was not listed by Grinnell and Miller (1944: 257-258, although they do include the record by Tyler (1920: 190) of a male taken in the bottomlands of the Merced River near Livingston, Merced County, on December 20, 1918.
In connection with a general investigation of the biology of several species of flycatchers in the genus Empidonax (Johnson, 1963a, 1963b, 1965, 1966), I examined autumn and winter specimens of the Hammond Flycatcher (Empidonax hanmondzi) available in the major American and Canadian museums.
Although the routes of autumn migration and regions of winter occurrence of this species are known in a general way, certain of the previously pub- lished information is either questionable or erroneous owing to the difficulty of specimen identification in the genus Empidonx (Miller, et al.

Jupiter and probably Mars appear together on one of the Great Chesterford beakers, and Mercury with either Minerva, Venus or Luna on the other sherds.
As suggested by Hull (1963b, 83—4), these indented beakers may show the planetary deities of the days of the week, and do not therefore shed any useful evidence on the association of individual gods.
There does not seem to be a theme underlying the association of various deities on the Gaulish vessels, and the selection of gods may be almost random, perhaps influenced by the potter’s own beliefs or, for that matter, by his client’s taste.
