		Lunenburg (44°22′37″N, 64°19′08″W) is a small town on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada approximately 90 kilometres southwest of Halifax, on the Atlantic coast.
		Lunenburg was founded in 1753 and was named in honour of the King of Great Britain and Ireland, (George II), who was also the Duke of Brunswick-Lunenburg.
		Lunenburg is the birthplace of the world famous schooner Bluenose and her daughter Bluenose II which remains an important tourist attraction in the town, her home port.

		A town resident has complained about "weeds, especially dandelions, that are in great abundance on private and town properties." He finds it "expensive and frustrating trying to maintain a nice lawn to help in keeping the town attractive to residents and tourists." (The Bulletin and Progress Enterprise, Wednesday June 2, 1999, page 14.)
		While councillors have not yet decided to act on this resident's ill-informed and dangerous proposal, the fact that they have not rejected his request outright and are taking it under consideration is extremely unsettling, and indicates a lack of understanding of the dangers of pesticides.
