		Mayor Suharto Mangudadatu of Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat, expressed this concern, saying although his town is not within the mining development area of TMRC, mine tailings could flow into their area and seriously damage the environment.
		Lutayan is a producer of tilapia and other fresh water fish in South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat provinces.
		The Lutayan Municipal Council earlier passed a resolution opposing the mining project of Western Mining Co., the previous proponent of the copper and gold project now pursued by TMRC, because of the firm's alleged environmentally destructive mining activity.

		Manila - Philippine authorities are desperately searching the countryside in the Southern Philippine province of Sultan Kulerat for a large number of children believed to have been stolen by a cult that is allegedly abusing the children en-masse.
		In what is being called a massive child search and rescue operation the military and police are looking for a cave where scores of children have been brought to be members of the group; a 'shadowy cult police claim in a remote area.
