Luxembourgish language - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Luxembourgish or Luxembourgian (French: Luxembourgeois, German: Luxemburgisch, Luxembourgish: Lëtzebuergesch) is a West Germanic language spoken in Luxembourg.
It is also spoken in small parts of Belgium, France and Germany, as well as by a few of the descendants of Luxembourg immigrants in the United States and emigrants to Transylvania, Romania (Siebenbürgen).
In this respect, Luxembourgish does come nearer to being merely a German dialect than does Dutch, which is also obviously related to German but markedly more divergent from that language in syntax, word order and idiom.

Like I already said there are no major cities and you can easily drive through the whole country in an hour, so the bands do not actually tour through the country but they play in small town pubs and people come from all over the country for the concerts.
It is nevertheless very unusual to see a Luxembourgish band tour a whole country and a huge exception if you are able to hear a Luxembourgish band in the states for example.
The other reason to this is that more than a third of the Luxembourgish population has foreign roots and often has difficulties with the luxembourgish language, which is apparently very hard to learn.
