		Lycoming College, classified by the Carnegie Foundation as one of two hundred and thirteen authentic liberal arts schools, is a four-year private college situated in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
		It adopted the name Lycoming, derived from the American Indian word "lacomic," meaning "Great Stream," a name that enjoys local popularity as the name of the county, a township and a creek.
