John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was born in London to Irish parents when England struggled against Higher Criticism, a persuasion which questioned the truthfulness and inspiration of the Bible.
Darby became a priest under the Church of England and served in Ireland where he labored tirelessly to educate the peasantry in the Word of God.
