An estimated 1,200 people took in an all-day program of activities on Saturday at the <b>Lyndonb> B. Johnson National Historical Park and <b>Lyndonb> B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site after a capacity turnout of over 250 attended a Friday night celebratory fundraiser at the LBJ Ranch.
A GLIMPSE INTO THE PAST is enjoyed by Luci Baines Johnson, right, while looking at an old photo of her father, <b>Lyndonb> B. Johnson, and the students of a poor Mexican school in South Texas that he taught in 1928.
Among the more than 20 individuals who addressed audiences in the park's Visitor Center auditorium, a speakers' tent, and the Sauer-Beckmann Farm were such notables as historian Robert Utley, former Texas Ranger H. Joaquin Jackson, Western fiction writer Elmer Kelton and Liz Carpenter, Lady Bird Johnson's former press secretary.
