		Lyon County is a county located in the state of Kentucky.
		In the county the population is spread out with 15.80% under the age of 18, 7.50% from 18 to 24, 32.90% from 25 to 44, 27.00% from 45 to 64, and 16.80% who are 65 years of age or older.
		The median income for a household in the county is $31,694, and the median income for a family is $39,940.

	Eddyville, Kentucky - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		It became the seat of Livingston county when it was formed in 1799, then the seat of Caldwell county in 1809, and finally the seat of Lyon county when it was formed in 1854.
		Throughout Kentucky, Eddyville is best known as a synonym for the Kentucky State Penitentiary, although the prison itself is actually 5 km south of the present town, on the shore of Lake Barkley in Old Eddyville on KY 730.
		Jones was a native of Lyon County who had attended law school and settled in Louisville, where he had gained a reputation as one of the best "tax lawyers" and also had accumulated enough money to be considered quite wealthy.

		In a 1969 Lyon County Herald-Ledger article, F. "Buster" Ordway wrote, "In the old days, those who came to the gathering were greeted by a maze of sassafras bushes, honeysuckle vines, sage grass, and other hard-to-cut-down growth that Mother Nature had seeded in this sacred burial ground.
		Henry Doom (1781-1848, born in Caldwell County, Kentucky), married Mary "Polly" Bennett (1791-1859, of South Carolina) in 1809.
		Henry is buried on the Emmett McKinney farm near Macedonia Church in Lyon County.
