  Andargor's HQ - Blind Firing the M203
Everyone has their opinion on this, This is how I rationalize it: in real life, the soldiers are given maps and compasses.
Ergo, with a compass and map, the real M203 gunner will be able to use indirect fire on a target, much like regular artillery.
Proper preparation with the M203 will make it an effective weapon, even on a map with limited visibility such as the bridge.

M203 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
M203 generally refers to the U.S. Military's designation for a single shot 40 mm grenade launcher that attaches to the M16 assault rifle or the M4 Carbine.
The M203 was introduced to US military forces during the early 1970's, and replaced the older M79 grenade launcher.
The 40 mm grenades used in the M203 are not the same as in the Mk 19 grenade launcher, which are of higher power.

 Colt M203
The M203 is one of the world's most interesting small arms, although it has been badly misrepresented in feature films and consequently there is a lot of nonsense flying about concerning what it is and what it can do.
The M203 has an aluminium hoop and a loop that has to be attached around the barrel to hold the thing on, and this has caused problems on M16-type guns with thicker barrels.
The overall length of the M203 means it may be classed as a "small firearm" and caught under the handgun ban, but because it is designed to be mounted on a rifle I don't think this section applies.

 M203 40mm Grenade Launcher
The M203 40mm Grenade Launcher was designed and procured as the replacement for the M79 grenade launcher of the Vietnam era.
The M203 replaced the M79, uses the same ammunition, and provides the grenadier with a weapon that is both a rifle and a grenade launcher.
The M203 grenade launching system was compatible with the 37mm non-lethal munitions procured for Operation United Shield and was the preferred delivery system for these munitions.

Modern Firearms - M203 40mm underbarrel grenade launcher
During the 1990s, M203 went into several modifications, such as shorter-barreled M203A2 (with 9 inch barrel, as opposed to standard 12 inch barrel), intended for shorter M4 carbines used by US SOCOM, as well as versions with MIL-STD 1913 (Picatinny rail) compatible mounts.
M203 launchers are still being used by US armed forces, and by many other armies, including those of Australia, Israel, South Korea, Philippines, Turkey and some others.
Standard sights for M203 are of ladder type, and graduated from 50 to 250 meters in 50m increments.

 SunProject M203
The M203 was borne out of a project to eliminate the requirement for infantrymen to carry a separate dedicated grenade Launcher, the M79.
The M203 is comprised of the Barrel with handgrip and the Receiver, which houses the firing mechanism and trigger unit.
With the TM M203 you are fixed to the original length of the M203 since the inner barrels run the length of the outerbarrel.

 The M203 Grenade Launcher
The M203 was designed as the replacement for the M79 grenade launcher used in the Vietnam era.
The M203 is attached to the M16, just under the M16 barrel and forward of the slip rings.
My complaints against the M203 are the way the sling attaches to this weapon and the way the quadrant sight attaches to the M16.

Because the grenades activate mid-flight, the M203 is most effective at engaging medium- to long-range targets.

Airsoft Retreat Forums - M203 battery holder
Posted - 03/05/2005 : 4:41:01 PM I was reading around and saw that www.gunsnguys.com had a custom M4 with a M203.
What was special about the M203 was, it didnt shoot anything, it held the battery.
So i was thinking about buying a used M203 and covering the front (not the very front but down the barrel a little so it looks like it does something) So my question is if anyone has this or has done something like what i want to do.

 AirsoftPlayers Discussion - G&P M203 Question
Posted - Oct 03 2004 : 9:37:14 PM I have fully established that I must have an M203 and I have narrowed it down to two options: the G&P M203 for Marui (long) http://www.airsoft-war4.com/details.php?pid=1798 or a Sun Project M203.
War IV has an SP M203 with the mount already on it http://www.airsoft-war4.com/details.php?pid=1560 but I would have to buy the adapter which in turn makes it $50 more expensive than if I got a G&P and bought the mount separately.
Posted - Oct 04 2004 : 7:55:56 PM The mount had the adapters to use it for the Sun Project M203, but it fits on my G&P M203, once I removed a single piece and pushed a pin in.

The AK is a great gun also but you won't get an M203 on it unless you get a RIS for it too.
I have the Sun Project for several reasons, but an important one was that I could cut it down more easily because of the internals of the TM version.
It acts like a pump action shotgun (not accurate to an M203, but maybe more useful in Airsoft) and costs a LOT less ($40-50 less for the launcher, you don't need an additional adapter - $40 more - and the shells are significantly less).
