	Messier Object 28
		M28 contains, in addition its only 18 known RR Lyrae variables, a W Virginis variable (Type II, or population II Cepheid) with a period of 17 days, and a second long period variable (Variable # 17, possibly of RV Tauri type, according to Burnham).
		M28 was the second globular clusters where a millisecond pulsar was discovered, in 1987 (the first was M4).
		Globular cluster M28 is one of the authentic discoveries of Charles Messier, who cataloged it on July 27, 1764.

		While earlier m/28 rifles used the standard m/91 trigger that was added by a spring to create a crisp take up of the slack in the trigger to improve trigger function, the 28-30 would continue with the added spring and modify the shape of the trigger slightly to create a better trigger pull.
		The side mounted bracket used on the m/28 was refined and included a more secure method of affixing the scope bracket to the weapon and the stocks were now also modified slightly to allow for the sight bracket to be slid to the rear of the rifle to remove it from the base.

		I strongly suspect that those ppl holding the view the M28/30 is a superior arm are looking at the arguement strictly from the viewpoint of performance from the bench and not weighing in combat effectiveness.
		Posted - 12/12/2006 : 12:46:05 PM I think most of the M28 to M28/30 upgrades were personal rifles who's owners sent them in and paid for the upgrades themselves.
		You do see this in a lot of M39’s and it is almost always in the same place which shows there is or can be a tendency to break in the wrist area.

		M22 even in binoculars was a suprisingly LARGE, glittering ball of haze, with stellarings all the way around its edges, especially to the S and SW.
		Visible in the same binocular field with M22 were the much fainter globular M28, and the bright yellow star lambda Sgr.
		Then about 1/4 field NW of lambda, M28 was just visible as a spot of haze, showing loose concentration and no other detail.

		A correct M28 rod would be a Russian M91 rod cut down to the proper length.
