M25 motorway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is an orbital motorway, 117 miles (188 km) in circumference, that encircles London.
The motorway was widened to ten lanes between junctions 12 and 14, and twelve lanes between junctions 14 and 15, in November 2005.
While this is more a structural than a logical issue, at junction 5 near Sevenoaks continuing around the M25 requires the driver to follow the slip roads, as the main routes continue as either the M26 to the east (on to the M20) or the A21 towards the south coast.

 M4 - The Western Motorway
The Western Motorway - usually known as the M4 - is one of Sydney's most important roads; it is certainly one of the busiest roads in Australia.
Its main purpose is to connect the fast-growing corridor of new urban development in the western suburbs of Sydney with central Sydney.
However, where the M4 does succeed is in connecting the outer western suburbs and the Blue Mountains to Parramatta, Sydney's 'second downtown'.

The London to South Wales M4 motorway was conceived in the 1950s, and by the late 1960s it was largely complete between London and Newport.
Consequently as the motorway rose to cross over the main South Wales railway, it could be constructed on embankments built of lightweight material.
Due to the lack of alternative routes, conversion of the A48 into motorway had to be carried out while maintaining existing traffic flows and converging alignments of existing and new carriageway.

M4 East shelved for city makeover - National - www.smh.com.au
The M4 East motorway extension has been put on hold indefinitely as the State Government concedes it needs to replace an era of outdated thinking on road and rail development with a wholesale review of transport.
The former roads minister, Carl Scully, announced the M4 East investigation in July 2002 as a way to solve growing congestion on Parramatta Road and the M4 itself, where average travel speeds have slowed to less than 25km/h.
Government sources said the decision to suspend the M4 East had been prompted mainly by criticism over the absence of a transport package in the metropolitan strategy.

Meanwhile, it is unclear whether the M4 accounts for more or less than 12 percent of Wiltshire's total traffic, though motorways account for around of 20 percent of all traffic annually.
