Topic: M602 motorway

M602 motorway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The M602 motorway is a relatively short motorway, leading traffic into Manchester and Salford by by-passing the suburban town of Eccles.
The motorway itself was meant to be a part of a bigger scheme, the South Lancashire Motorway.
This would leave a short stump of motorway between the M62 and Salford - this was renumbered M602, whilst the southern end of the M62 between Worsley and Stretford became the M63.

M60 motorway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The M60 was developed by connecting and consolidating the existing motorway sections of the M63, M62, and an extended M66.
As an orbital motorway, it is equivalent to London's M25 motorway, however, unlike its London counterpart, the M60 is a complete circle (in London the stretch over the Thames at Dartford is not a motorway, but the A282).
As part of the project, the A6144(M) motorway, which connected to the M60 at junction 8, was downgraded and lost its motorway status.

A6144(M) motorway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The A6144(M) was a motorway in Carrington, Greater Manchester, England.
Also relatively rare was that the motorway was not a trunk road and was therefore not the responsibility of the Highways Agency.
The motorway also had no hard shoulder, just a couple of emergency lay-bys with SOS phones and lights at the end of the west bound carraigeway; many say this means it did not deserve motorway status.

M3 motorway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The M3 motorway is a motorway in England.
The motorway was built to relieve traffic from the old A30 and A33, the congested single carriageway trunk roads that traffic between the cities previously used.
The road was upgraded to motorway in 1991, but only as far as a temporary junction at Compton, south of the present-day junction 11.
