		The sense of outrage against MASSOB has grown to the level where members of the Abia State House of Assembly now demand "an outright disbandment of the group, stressing that their operations were not only affecting economic activities but inimical to the Igbo interest".
		MASSOB emerged as one of the many ethno-nationalistic Nigerian activist groups that based their raison d’etre on the actualization of sovereign ethnically based nation states out of present Nigeria.
		MASSOB appears to be one of those organizations that must continue to redefine the reasons for their existence because it is doubtful that much strategic thinking went into its founding process.

	Politics : Biafra Day: How MASSOB shut down South-East
		MASSOB led by Chief Ralph Uwazurike had said it was using the day to draw attention of the world to the need for the creation of the Republic of Biafra through peaceful means.
		Before now, MASSOB had been seen as a bunch of idealist group, pursuing the resuscitation of the Biafran state that collapsed in 1970, at the end of Nigerian civil war.
		With the MASSOB protest coming one year after the general elections, something must therefore be wrong with those who claim to have legitimately secured the mandate of the people and at the same time could not rally them when the need arose.
