MDFMK was formed by two members of KMFDM, Sascha Konietzko and Tim Skold, following a brief break-up of KMFDM.
They released a self titled album, MDFMK, on Universal Records, not to be confused with the earlier KMFDM single of the same name.
MDFMK's work contained elements of KMFDM's earlier industrial rock, but was also sounds heavily influenced by Skold, Tim Skold's solo release.

MDFMK is definitely a cybertronic creation but the plaintive wail of the vocals betrays the project's human heart.
MDFMK is a trio with Sascha directing guitarist Tim Skold, the lone holdover from the latter day KMFDM, and the indescribably beautiful Lucia Cifarelli in a sonic sound play that is equal parts Techno and Metal and slightly louder than WWIII.

According to KMFDM lyrics, MDFMK is a message from Satan ("A message from Satan when you turn it around").
Sascha Konietzko, Tim Skold, and Lucia Cifarelli reformed KMFDM with several other artists, and have not released any other material as MDFMK, nor is it likely that they will in the future.

The result is an MDFMK that, in some ways, reflected some of the KMFDM angst of the past but, with a lineup composed of Sasha, Tim Skold, and Lucia, still echoed something of a void without the additional components known as Gunther and En Esch.
MDFMK is an incredible mix of guitars, electronics, vocals that go from harsh to hypnotic, and general noise.

Sascha Konietzko, it would seem, felt that it was time for a change, that the old firebird KMFDM, which had been treading stale water for years now, was finally going to kick the bucket.
MDFMK is electro-industrial metal, not the other way around, and its fast-paced, adrenaline-laden sound may estrange some in the rivet-head clique.
However, nearly all the songs are catchy and consistently superb, making MDFMK's self-titled release one of my favorite albums of the year.

I mean, one thing with MDFMK is that we don't have a clear-cut format or a realm that we have to fit into or measure up to.
I was thinking when I saw MDFMK I was thinking it was more like completely different but when I listened to the music some elements of course reminded me of certain elements that you guys had practiced before.

"New and improved," MDFMK is Sasha of KMFDM, without the rest of KMFDM.
Whether it's KMFDM, Excessive Force or now MDFMK it's all pretty much the same thing: violent/anarchistic/nihilistic vocals, wild but never too weird electronics, metal guitar riffs, female backing vocals and anti-slogan chanting.
MDFMK does add a few new flavors to the mix.

MDFMK's lyrics are English too, but I still like to consider them German Industrial.
^o^ KMFDM and MDFMK are kind of political, kind of against all the people who don't like people who do things differently [listen to 'Witch Hunt'].

MDFMK sounds a little like KMFDM with a somewhat less industrial edge and, sadly, a somewhat less intense power.
Whatever it is, MDFMK just doesn't work as well as KMFDM.
MDFMK isn't KMFDM but at least they make that plain on the CD cover.

From the ashes of KMFDM, here is MDFMK; consisting of former KMFDM members Sascha Konietzko and Tim Skold with Drill singer Lucia Cifarelli.
Even though this album wasn't well received, MDFMK is packed full of catchy dance beats and rhythms, plus loads of excellent guitar work; much more so than many of KMFDM's material.
All in all, MDFMK is something that is definitely worth listening to if your a fan of industrial/techno music, or even KMFDM (although that doesn't aply to everybody; many KMFDM fans did not embrace this album).

MDFMK makes no such pretenses or pretensions, it's simply a reversal of the previous acronym.
If one were to judge the album on it's own merits, and not compare it to KMFDM (as is inevitable), MDFMK is decent.
Beats, guitars, things going crash and thud, a blend of female and growled male vocals, stir vigorously, add two tablespoons of samples and bake at 350 for an hour.

Before joining MDFMK, Cifarelli spent two years on a Drill album, only to have A&M Records drop the band at the height of the Universal-PolyGram merger and never release the finished product.
MDFMK is loaded with guitar layers, much like a KMFDM record, while many of the howling vocal tracks (on songs such as "Now") sound strikingly familiar.
Two weeks ago, MDFMK was the top debut on the CMJ top 200, with 236 college radio stations adding the album to their playlists.

The MDFMK disc starts out with two songs of some of the coolest organized chaos you will ever hear.
This doesn't work either because the music on the MDFMK CD has the heavy guitars of KMFDM past along with the standard female vocals you would come to expect from this band.
In the end Sascha changed the name simply because he wanted to, maybe because he didn't want to fight with all the legalities of switching labels in regards to the back catalogue and such.

Now before you completely disregard this review as nonsense I assure you industrial music is not a sacrilege to metal.
MDFMK completely define the industrial metal genre with devastatingly original, not to mention severely brutal tracks like "Rabble-Rouser," "Torpedoes" and "Witch Hunt." Every track has a huge industrial influence with small guitar riffing in the distant background.
The ensemble cast of vocal performances is a wicked edition to the already incredible album.

Attempting to indicate that the break-up led to a clean sheet, however, he plumped for the new moniker of 'MDFMK'.
The name was changed round the right way again by 2002, with a new single 'Boots' followed by 'comeback' KMFDM album 'Attak', though ironically recorded with the MDFMK line-up, with the additional of a few old returnees (but En Esch and Shultz still very much out of the picture).

 MDFMK: Electro-Industrial Pioneers Shed Their Old Skin
Generally, anything that falls under the headings electronic or industrial is seen as the obsessive effort of a dark figure, locked away from the world performing unspeakable acts on otherwise innocent computers.
On the heels of the 1999 breakup of KMFDM (arguably one of the premier techno/industrial crossover acts of the '90s), the core songwriting team of Konietzko and Skold regrouped and launched their new enterprise, MDFMK-with vocalist Lucia Cifarelli later rounding out the lineup.
To facilitate their unique songwriting and recording process, Konietzko and Skold built separate but fully compatible home studios for the recording of their self-titled Republic Records debut.
