		A Multi-function display (MFD) is a small screen (CRT or LCD) in an aircraft surrounded by multiple buttons that can be used to display information to the pilot in numerous configurable ways.
		Often an MFD will be used in concert with a Primary Flight Display.
		Many MFDs allow the pilot to display their navigation route, moving map, weather radar, GPWS, TCAS and airport information all on the same screen.

		The fact that you have got the MFD 2 to work with a passat suggests that not only the golf but also the Passat has the speed signal as part of the can bus.
		The only cutting that was done were the two locator sockets and since only one is ever used, the second one could be glued back in to convert back to the original depth.

		The solution to the problem is to use extension tubes to decrease the MFD of the lens so that a closer approach and thus frame filling images of the subject.
