MISIA - THE TOUR OF MISIA 2002
I realize that the intention was to make MISIA look like a talented performer who is recognized world-wide (which I agree she deserves to be), but to me it clearly comes off as a desperate plea for Japanese performers like MISIA to be recognized by Western markets.
For those of you who think that Japanese performers and their promoters are content selling their music only to the Japanese market and parts of Asia, you need look no further than this piece for your proof that they are not.
MISIA's 2001 tour video was spectacular, and there really isn't anything about the 2002 one that makes it any less spectacular, except the lack of on-screen lyrics and perhaps the song selection.

Misia’s sense of fashion and style are often puzzling, usually she dresses in space-age, futuristic designs or ultra-trendy clothing that seems more whimsical than attractive or fashionable.
Misia is truly an oddball artist whose celebrity status seems to have confused and troubled her, resulting in some poor choices for new music ventures in her latest music.
Misia’s speaking voice (as mentioned) is characteristic of her quirkiness, after belting out an incredible ballad with a stunningly deep and emotional voice, she will thank the crowd for their applause with the tiniest, highest voice imaginable.

Many in the music world doubted that it would be possible to rap in Japanese, that is, to be able to perform with the needed rhythmic nuance ("flow") and rhymes, because the language itself was viewed as deficient: It didn't use stress accents and sentences must end with one of a few simple verb endings.
