In recent years, MLB rookies with considerable experience in Japan have won the award (from Hideo Nomo to Kazuhiro Sasaki to Ichiro Suzuki).
MLB needs to identify and clarify the qualifications for the rookie of the year award so voters know what to base their choices on.
A rookie is a player who hasn't accumulated 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in previous seasons and hasn't spent 45 or more days on 25-man active rosters, not including times when the active list is expanded to 40.

The release this year needs to be the turning point for 989 Sports if they’re to prove that they have a clue with what they are doing in the baseball gaming market; otherwise they’re going to have a tremendous amount of ground to make up to catch the front runners.
“MLB 2001” on the PSX was excellent in terms of gameplay, but didn’t offer much to keep the gamer interested for a longer period of time.
This is a good sign, as when playing the rookie level you don’t need to worry about where the ball will go, since it’s almost always in the strike zone.

The same Bass that has never played more than 64 MLB games in 1 season, the same Bass that had a career high 4 hr's in 1981 and a total of 6 in his MLB career, yet he goes to Japan and hits 54 in 1985, 3 seasons after he left MLB.....
What I keep hearing people say is that Hideki Matsui should not be eligible for the MLB Rookie of the Year award because he has previous experience playing in Japan's professional baseball league.
