Carlos Bocanegra was named MLS Defender of the Year while Kansas City Wizards midfielder Chris Klein was honored as the Comeback Player of the Year.
At 23 years and five months, Bocanegra became the youngest player to be named Defender of the Year, beating the mark set by Eddie Pope in 1997.
