		i think mp2 is "father" from mp3 format, but it has lower compression (greater in size).
		mp2 format is used in some radio stations.
		Its really hard finding a converter to mp3 from mp2, so I will just wait for the album to be released as mp3.

		Hey guys, I have a friend who has 2 cds with.mp2 formatted videos in it and is having a hell of a time trying to find a program that will open it up and work properly.
		Windows Media player 7.1 should have that codec if that doesn't work then it maybe a specalized mpeg2 format which means you need to find and install as many mpeg2 video and sound codecs you can find in hope on of them works.
		As for mp2, it was the unpopular prequel of mp3.

		There seems to be some suggestion in these forums (I've yet to try it out) of using PVAstrumento to reprocess the mp2 file and then use something like winamp to convert to wav file.
		This would seem to imply that the mp2 file has a header file which states that there is a video stream and that this is why audio players don't like it.
		If I want to transcode them to a different format, after cutting I use BeSweet (http://dspguru.notrace.dk/) which can transcode from pretty much any audio format to any other without any problems.
