Since all MSX computers are basically the same, any extras added by each manufacturer serve to differentiate their models in the marketplace.
MSX BASIC is an extension of Microsoft BASIC 4.5 and is patterned after GW-BASIC, a common BASIC on 16-bit computers.

I wouldn't want to change a single feature with the msx-basic version, for sure there are some features that you miss in some new basic dialects, but not in ALL new basic dialects for sure.
He calls it that a basic/c hybrid because BB has some things that the classic basics don't have (block IF's, select cases, functions, while loops etc.).

The BASIC could perfectly be published in a magazine.
There is a glitch in the top right of the screen when the gamescreen scrolls, the distance is printed when it's first updated and the 2 to the left and 2 to the right road 'jumps' are bound to cause a crash when they're generated too often.
The BASIC is structured, but some of the graphical characters might cause problems when the BASIC program is published in a magazine.

It is probably one of the rare real 3D games you'll find on MSX and technically it is a great thing, you even have a radar which fulfills you with a kind of 3D amazemend.
Note that this code is like most of the MSX basic code I wrote, before the time that I got convinced that sometimes it is a "good thing (tm)" to program in a more modular fashion, and making sure that it is maintenable at a source level.
The people who already own the original game on MSX will probably notice the fact that the screenshot on the back of the box is'nt of the real MSX version.
