Laguna police director Edwin Corvera identified the fatalities as former Army Capt. Benjamin Peria of Batangas province and Reynaldo Toledo of Morong town in Rizal province.
Corvera said the suspects were on board a fl Honda Civic bearing plate number UTC 854 and 33-J in front, as they were seen entering Villa Nerisa Resort in Pakil town, hours before the encounter.

POLICE KILLED four suspected kidnappers of a two-year-old Chinese-Filipino boy in a shoot-out early Wednesday morning in Mabitac, Laguna, nearly 24 hours after one of their accomplices was arrested and the boy was rescued.
Police spotted the group in Lumban town, Laguna on board a gray Mitsubishi Lancer which the suspects allegedly used in the abduction of the boy.
The bodies of the suspects were brought to the Balobayan Funeral Parlor in Mabitac, Laguna.
