Macast - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The MacAMP player was first released on April 13, 1997 by Dmitry Boldyrev and Nullsoft.
Initial problems, such as the lack of a playlist, skipping the last 7 seconds of songs and problems with files larger than 4 megabytes were ironed out in the numerous alpha releases.
In September 1999, @soft renamed MacAMP and MacAMP Lite to Macast and Macast Lite to avoid confusion with Nullsoft's version for Windows called Winamp.
