  MacIrssi, new open source IRC client - Topic Ars OpenForum
It's called MacIrssi and is based on the terminal program irssi.
The code I use from irssi is basically unchanged so improvements to irssi should be quite easy to include in MacIrssi.
I only ever chat on IRC, and don't run any scripts or anything, so current lack of features doesn't bother me - it seems stable so far, and the UI is very clean.

The program is called MacIrssi and I have now released the first beta version.

sooloo: After downloading and testing out the recent ircle update, a new version of MacIrssi is like a breath of fresh air...
Well, I guess MacIRSSI has a good potential.
I would switch to it full time, but installing any irssi scripts seems to make MacIrssi crash, hang, or log an error on startup.

Based on the *nix IRC client irssi (http://www.irssi.org), MacIrssi is a powerful, free of charge, open source IRC client.
