Macdonald Carey (March 15, 1913 – March 21, 1994) was an American actor best known for his role as the patriarch Dr. Tom Horton on NBC's soap opera Days of our Lives.
Carey wrote several books of poetry and a 1991 autobiography, "The Days of My Life." He is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California, alongside his daughter Lisa, who died in infancy.
For his contribution to television, Macdonald Carey has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, at 6536 Hollywood Boulevard.

Carey also worked in many Westerns, among them Streets of Laredo, Comanche Territory, Copper Canyon (all 1949), The Great Missouri Raid (1950), Outlaw Territory (1953), and the unheralded sleeper Stranger at My Door (1956).
Carey also played a crusading attorney in the 1950s syndicated series.

Macdonald C was in one of my favorite movies (at the time).
The last time I saw Macdonald Carey, he was playing something like a great, great grandfather/doctor on some soap.
