		Macha appeared on the scene with their distinctive sonic identity fully formed: an exciting blend of influences ranging from kraut-rock, 70's-rock, post-punk and trance-music, to the street musicians of Indonesia encountered by founding members Josh McKay and Kai Riedl during their travels there.
		MACHA (Which is Yiddish for "The Big Cheese") was realized at the end of 1996 when multi-instrumentalist and MACHA mastermind Joshua McKay (vocals, hammered dulcimer, vibraphone, giutar, bass, various double reed horns, gongs, the Fun Machine, Baldwin Organ, The Kitchen Sink...) learned that his brother Mischo (drums) was moving to Athens.
		MACHA (which means fun in Hindi) was recently joined by childhood friend Wes Martin, who has become a full fledged band member and shares the multi-instrumentalist duties as well as pitching in with vocals.

		we are given to what seem to be a selection of Macha songs to which a couple of the Bedheads have contributed some initial instrumentation.
		There is a simple guitar and drum part which we may assumed was supplied by Bedhead, but it is buried underneath layers of crazy instruments like zithers and other plinging and ringing sounds.

		Having gone to school together during their youth, members of Macha and Bedhead sort of conceived this project after the demise of Bedhead last year.
		Apparently, the group still had some tapes of music that they had done, so they sent these tapes to their friends in Macha and let them do with the music what they would.
		On the album opening track, the crux of the guitar/bass/drums sound like a fairly normal Bedhead track, right down to the somewhat soft lyrics, but the obvious Macha touches are there as well, with some chimes laid down to reinforce the rhythm section and add another subtle layer to the quiet parts of the track.
