Machars Action Community Development project was developed from a joint undertaking by the five Community Councils and two Traders Associations in the Machars, the peninsula south of Newton Stewart.
The purpose of the project was to improve the quality of social and economic life of the communities of the Machars through supporting the economic objectives of the 5b Programme.
Machars Action is likely to continue to provide a benefit to the local community through continued support from the local authority and local enterprise company.
