The original Plus came in Apple beige; during 1987 the case color was changed to platinum, the same color as pre-Bondi Macs.
The Mac Plus was bundled with MacWrite and MacPaint, and Apple began to bundle HyperCard and MultiFinder in August 1987.
The Plus was the last Mac not to use ADB ports for the keyboard and mouse; it was the first to use mini DIN-8 serial ports.

In 1988 my first Macintosh Plus cost more than $2,000 and came with a keyboard, mouse, and a CPU unit with a built-in, 9 inch fl and white screen.
Plus users can almost be guaranteed that at sometime during their computer's lifespan, the power supply will fail.
While the Mac Plus sold for a couple of thousand dollars in the late 1980s and 1990, today they are almost worthless unless you can find one in pristine condition, with the original box, discs, keyboard, mouse and manuals.

I suspect this is the case because the Macintosh internals appears to be suited for either 3.5" drives, or 5.25", even though the front bezel only has a floppy slot.
The CRT was a bolt in mod, there were no changes needed to the monitor to get it to mount to the macintosh chassis.

File exchange between Macs & PCs - Penn Printout, Feb 1992
Because Macintoshes have a smaller share of the market than do IBM-compatible computers, vendors have not considered DOS users who need to read and write Macintosh files a sufficiently large audience to warrant significant research and development expenditures.
Macintoshes and IBM-compatibles physically arrange the data they store in different formats, and the cables and drives allow each machine to "see" the data located on disks created on the other.
It is built into the Macintosh and does not require the purchase of additional hardware; it is, however, limited to 3.5-inch disks.

Macintosh started the whole family of computers and devices that continued the tradition of innovating, taking care of the user in the first place, and – as Apple itself put it a couple of years ago – thinking different.
Macintosh would not be what it was, and probably would not even see the light of day, if not for the group of extraordinary people who put a great amount of effort to make it happen.

Frogdesign made a few small changes to the original design of the case, embedding port icons into the plastic and reducing the plastic barrier that Manock had added so as to allow more standard cables to be attached.
Over the course of its production, its colour changed from the original Macintosh's brown to introduce a warm grey known as "platinum" which was favoured by frogdesign and would be the colour of every following desktop computer from Apple until the mid-1990s (Kunkel, 61).
Frogdesign nonetheless regarded the changes made for the Macintosh Plus as insignificant, and they declined any credit for them (Kunkel, 47).
