The office is geographically in the center of the Macleod riding which Menzies sees as a benefit to his constituents.
The Macleod Electoral District Office opened on Aug. 16 on Highway 2 in Claresholm and its primary role is to serve as a constituency office to deal with any issues, comments or concerns.
The Macleod MP is excited about his new role within the Federal Conservative Caucus and pleased to be working from the town where he was born and raised.

Macleod is a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1908 to 1968 and since 1988.
It is a rural riding in southwest Alberta, representing the municipal districts of Foothills, Willow Creek, Pincher Creek and Ranchland, as well as Vulcan County and Kananaskis Country.
This riding was originally created in 1907 from parts of District of Alberta and Calgary ridings.

The Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) Macleod electoral district held its inaugural meeting in High River on Saturday where an executive was elected and a candidate selection committee appointed.
Also, it was decided the first CPC candidate for the Macleod riding in the next federal election will be announced March 27.
Peter Fermor, president of the CPC Macleod district, said it is likely whoever is elected as the CPC candidate in Macleod will win the election.

Crowfoot is a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons since 1968.
This electoral district was also home to the largest margin of victory in any federal riding in the 2004 and 2006 federal elections: Conservative candidate Kevin Sorenson won 37,649 votes, or 80.2% of the riding's total in 2004.
The district includes the Town of Drumheller and the city of Camrose, along with the counties of Acadia, Wheatland, Kneehill, Starland, Stettler, Paintearth, Camrose and Special Area 2, 3 and 4.

 The Honourable Sir Frederick W.A.G. Haultain, 1897-1905
After articling with the Toronto firm of Bethune, Moss, and Falconbridge, he was called to the Ontario Bar in 1882 and the Northwest Territories Bar in 1884.
He also served as Crown Prosecutor at that location for several years and did some editorial work for the Fort Macleod and Lethbridge newspapers.
He represented the electoral district of Macleod in the Northwest Territories Council during the years 1887-88 and in the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories which replaced it from 1888 to 1905.

The North-West Territories Act of 1875 has provided that an elected member of the Council should be selected as soon as there was a population of 1,000 persons within an area of 1,000 square miles.
When the MacLeod electoral district was created in 1887, Haultain was chosen as the first member, holding the seat continuously until 1905 when the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan were established.
The North-West Territories Act provided that when the elected Councillors had increased to twenty-one, the Council should be replaced by an elective Assembly.
