  MAD AT THE WORLD records
Joining with old MATW writer Asim Shaikh, Mad at the World Records was now envisioned to serve a two-fold purpose, the first of which was to release records by current bands that embodied a certain tendency towards raw, dissonant music focusing on but not excluded to punk rock in all its variations.
To understand what I mean is to understand "mad" in the phrase mad at the world not necessarily as anger, but as a derivative of madness, a kind of dissimulating violence that I suggest is a part of any worthy art.
So, to answer the question "Are you mad at the world?" I was asked often times by people during the days when Mad at the World fanzine existed; absolutely, and to which I'd like to add, that whether or not it's bad or good, it is sometimes very pleasant to smash things.

The "Mad, Mad, Religious World" that I had been doubtful about and questioning, was as crazy as I had thought all along.

With "Mad," he simply gave the characters a weakness (avarice) that could be exposed within the humor of the story.
That’s why IAMMMMW worked in 1963 (the film was a smash, playing for over a year at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, built in time for the film’s premiere) and that is why the form works when re-tooled for contemporary audiences and mores.

Most Web graphics are given a ppi of 72 by the people who design them, partly for historical reasons (because in the print world 72 points generally equals one inch) and partly because many monitors hover around an average monitor resolution of 72 ppi.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- The 40th anniversary of the late Stanley Kramer's 1963 comedy extravaganza "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" doesn't technically occur until next year, but the film is getting a special anniversary screening in Hollywood Wednesday.
Karen Sharpe Kramer told UPI that her husband -- best known for serious pictures such as "Judgment at Nuremberg," "The Defiant Ones" and "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" -- decided to make "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" after a critic suggested that he was not capable of making a successful comedy.
She said "Mad World" was also the first movie to use animation to show the credits, a technique that became widely used in Hollywood -- perhaps most notably in Blake Edwards' "Pink Panther" movies.
