  X-Entertainment's Tribute To MADBALLS
Since Madballs were technically action figures - obviously a medium I was more comfortable with than football or hockey - I felt a little more at ease and was able to involve myself in sports without fear.
Madballs were a mid-80s Amtoy special, a collection of scary-faced spheres that capitalized on the gross-out success of Garbage Pail Kids in a whole new way.
That feature was may more attractive than you might think, considering that the people who had Madballs were still at an age where all girls had cooties or some other made-up disease that usually lead to rumors about the afflicted having giant green spots on their ass.

 Madballs
With their hideous but comical faces, the Madballs helped to establish a toy era where wacky characters (like these and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) would begin to lure kids away from the standard fare of action figures and space toys.
By mid-1987 the Madballs craze had run it's course and children were turning to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
While Madballs were made over a decade later than Wacky Packs, Odd Rods, Nutty Mads and other toys of questionable taste, kids from the '80s will always cherish characters like Screamin Meanie; Occulus Orbus; and Slobbulous.

I'd first heard about/saw the new Madballs at Toy Fair 2006 and again at the 2006 San Diego Comic Convention and was excited as all get-out that they were coming back after a 20+ year hiatus.
Now, in the firt photo, look closely at the top left corner...there you can see the display of carded Madballs (which appears to be Bashbrain and possibly Freaky Fullback in a darker colored card, although it's difficult to be sure at this size) that we saw partly of on the seibertron.com pictures.
All I do know is, they DID have carded Madballs at the show this year and possibly other stuff but none of the people with cameras and access to a website decided to take pictures of that one particular section of the Basic Fun boothe.
