		Salafiyyah isn't a madhab, it is a mentality that deliberately chooses to ignore the development of Islam for almost 1300 years and dismisses it as irrelevant.
		It is not so that you may not take the opinion of another madhab, however you have to have a foundation because the madhahib are all based on different methodology and derrive their rulings in different ways.

		i dont really know where to start but to answer your situation, you dont just become hanafi or follower a particular madhab because your parents do so, you can choose any of the 4 the best would be the one you can learn the easiest(i.e.
		scholar nearby or majority of the community is a particualr madhab) and the one you feel in your heart is best for you.
