 Guru-parampara - 1
Madhava Tirtha was quite often confused with, or known as Madhvacarya or Madhva, due to the similarity in name.
Madhava Tirtha blessed him saying, "One day you shall be the King of all Industan." By this blessing, immediately all the local shepherds made him their head, and he became known as the King of that local country which governed five groups of communities - Canara, Taligas, Canguivaro, Negapatao and Badagas.
Madhava Tirtha was in office at the Vedanta Pitha from 1333 AD until 1350 AD, when he passed away.

Madhava Asrama's claim to the Jyotirmath Sankaracharya title is based on the stance that after Swarupananda Saraswati took up the Dwaraka Sankaracharya title in 1982, his title at Jyotirmath has been nullified by the passage of time.
Madhava Asrama does not recognize the claim of Vasudevananda Saraswati to the Jyotirmath title, as he traces his own claim to the title through his guru, Krishnabodha Asrama, and to the decision of the Kashi Vidvat Parishad and the Akhila Bharatiya Dharmasangha.
As Madhava Asrama's Jyotirmath Sankaracharya title is very much dependent upon the latest intervention by these two bodies, it is not too far off the mark to say that his claim to the title holds only so long as he enjoys their confidence.

Ratha Yatra Response: Krsna Talk 9
Of course throughout this controversy B.V. Madhava Maharaja maintains that Srila Sridhar Maharaja is not the one to have authorized his disciples at Sri Caitanya Saraswata Matha to have arranged the coal, etc. but such is only their speculation.
The arguments in the article of B. Madhava Maharaja may be suitable for the in house devotees of their Matha, or for those who have wondered from the grace of Srila Sridhara Maharaja and are now treading in dangerous waters where angels fear to tread.
His Holiness B. Madhava Maharaja wants to push this issue by asking us to prove how Sripad Narayana Maharaja is not a follower of Srila Sridhara Maharaja but such a demand is quite audacious since the majority of the Vaishnava world far and wide already understands and accepts this point.
