It was in Benton County, Alabama, probably on this tract of land that Joseph Vineyard died on 17 March, 1840.

Storm damage that occurred in Madison County, Georgia on May 6, 2003 was surveyed by Vince DiCarlo, Warning Coordination Meteorologist from the Weather Forecast Office in Greenville Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Based on this survey, and after conferring with the Madison County Emergency Management Director, it was determined that damage was the result of a tornado.
The damage path length in Madison County was estimated to be about 3 miles, and the width from 100 to 200 yards.
