BAND MADNESS is a March-Madness style, single elimination tournament of pop/rock bands where the winners are determined strictly by fan voting.
In case you missed it, Band Madness 2006 quickly took on a life of its own, boasting tens of thousands of visitors per day over the course of the tournament, including a peak of over 500,000 visitors in June 2006.
Band Madness has appeared on Collegehumor.com, VH1’s Best Week Ever blog, Stereogum.com, and literally hundreds of fan sites from around the world, all uniting together to insult Oasis fans in dozens of languages.

The band has reformed with members at various points since then to at concerts such as Glastonbury and their own series of reunion christened "Madstock" the first of which featured infamous performance by Morrissey as well as Ian Dury and Blockheads.
Madness reformed in 1999 (this time including Barson) releasing a new single "Lovestruck" (which the UK Top Ten) and a new "Wonderful" which reached the Top 20 UK Since then rumours have been spreading of Madness cover album and possibly even another studio album.

One of the greatest highlights of my career is one that might seem miniscule to others, but in 1998 St. Madness opened for a band some people might remember, called Black Oak Arkansas.

Cathal, who had remained close to the band, became a full time member and was a bit like a mascot for the band who would provide dancing, occasional shouts and later on some trumpet too.
The band also received a mention in the book that celebrated the 40th birthday of the Doc Marten boot, as Madness and the Doc Marten were both a sign of the times in the 1980s.

The band were originally called "Beat The System" which started around 1989, we mainly did all types of crappy music of which to this day some of it I am totally embarrassed about.
By now a few band members had left and been replaced one being my good friend 'Cliffy' who had some great ideas and probably helped make the band what it is today (thanks Steve).
I've got to admit that being one of the original members along with Derek that this is a very tiring job at times, the travelling especially is a killer, but when you've done most of the gigs you know it's worth it.

After Madness disbanded in 1986, he formed the band The Madness, releasing a self-titled album in 1988 reaching no. 66 in both the UK and US charts.
He managed the 1990s band The Farm, as well as producing most of their first album Spartacus which reached #1 in the UK charts and spawned the international hit "All Together Now." As a songwriter, he has been influenced by Ian Dury and Ray Davies.
In 2006, Suggs performed the Madness classic "My Girl" with The Ordinary Boys at the Brixton Academy — which was released as a B-side on their UK #6 hit single "Nine2five".

Madness are BIG as any other BIG band from the late 70s and 80s (90s as well) such as Police, Spandau Ballet, Culture Club among others; yet, there is no excuse to sell the same thing over and over and over again, unless it is the money that speaks and the money only.
Pity, for Madness band members seemed to be the voice of the middle class aging, unemployed, bored youngsters around England of the 80s--that is why their bold attempt at the movies with Take It or Leave It was, if not successful, at least sincere and beautiful.
Madness has created their most human album;, even in its faults it shows that the band had traveled miles from their more ska-oriented beginnings.With Keep Moving Madness hits a new level in complexity of both music and lyrics.
