Compare Prices and Read Reviews on Handguns Magazine at Epinions.com   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-02)
I've been reading this magazine on and off again for the past ten years or so, and I have noticed a few things that have changed and a few things that have remained the same from one year to the next.
The magazine not only tackles the anti- gun forces with its own brand of counter- rhetoric, it also confronts the anti- firearm forces in Washington with frequent stories about voting records of congressmen and what needs to be done to ensure the continuance of second- amendment rights.
It's nice that this magazine wants to stick up for the rights of the people to keep and bear arms, but the level that the writers reach in their efforts to be completely on the side of gun ownership sometimes interferes with their ability to provide sound information on the topic at hand.

Extreme Duty AR-15/M-16 Magazines from D&L Sports, Inc.
Failure to curve the magazine body is a design shortcoming because it does not compensate for the taper in the cartridge cases, thus it is less efficient in delivering cartridges into proper position against the magazine feed lips.
Yes, a magazine loaded to maximum capacity will generally lock in the mag well when the bolt is locked open, but many standard issue carbines commonly have difficulty stripping off the first couple rounds due to cartridge stack tension.
When magazines with extra power magazine springs are loaded to maximum capacity, they will not allow cartridge stack compression upon loading, and they will hold the cartridge stack so tightly that standard buffer spring pressure may not strip off the first rounds when you release the bolt after a reload.

This drops the empty magazine from the firearm, and the secondary loaded magazine into the shooter's left hand.
