		Magic is a 1978 film starring Anthony Hopkins and Ann-Margret.
		Not strictly a horror film, Magic is more correctly categorized as a "psychological thriller." It was written by William Goldman, who also wrote the novel it was based on.
		Magic tells the story of Charles "Corky" Withers (Hopkins), a man that has just failed his first attempt at professional magic.

		Using her magical powers, she manages to survive the ordeal, much to the dismay of the townsfolk.
		However, her story does not end happily after this-- she is abandoned by her lover while pregnant with his child, and in despair, she casts a spell dooming any man who falls in love with any of her descendants.
		The details and development on the two Aunts are spotty (they even disappear from the film for most of the second act), while the presence of Sally's daughters seems to be aimed at injecting sentimentality and comic relief into the story.

		It was this movie that Shimada saw in Japan and inspired him to become a dove worker.
		All in all, the movie was hokey but fun, and Roberts certainly looks better on screen than she does in magazine photos or even on the movie poster.

		I saw this movie on opening night last night with moderately high expectations and not a lot of knowledge about Sarah Silverman.
		Silverman is entertainingly acerbic, but ALL of this movie's strong moments come from her stand-up, and the air completely goes out of the film when she goes into her mediocre, poorly integrated songs and set pieces.
		The movie wants to present Silverman as something more than a mere comedian, but unfortunately fails -- the haphazard presentation and (especially) the atrocious-looking digital video (I challenge you to find a single sharply focused object in the entire movie) make it unworthy of a cinematic event.
