		Magic Dirt is an Australian band that plays a cross between noise-rock and garage-rock, a sort of "noise-grunge" equally energetic and twisted.

		Titled Life Was Better, it made Magic Dirt the most exciting new band on the scene alongside You Am I. The EP ended up selling over 20,000 copies and Magic Dirt had quickly become one of the label's star acts.

		Cover of Magic Dirt's Life Was Better EP 1995 started with the band joining the Big Day Out tour across Australia, with the likes of Hole (who they also supported on non-Big Day Out shows) and Silverchair.
		(who had managed Magic Dirt at the early stages of their career) was recruited as Herring's replacement, and the band signed to Warner for a 2 album deal (though, in Australia, they remained with Au-Go-Go).
		In 2000, Magic Dirt signed a recording contract with (ironically) Warner Music Australia, and began recording their third album with Phil Vinall, after being impressed by his work with Placebo.

		Living in America, I'm not too familiar with the Australian music scene aside from the more obvious biggies (Nick Cave, INXS, etc.), so I was kinda taken aback when I first encountered Magic Dirt after popping in a promo CD while hanging around a college radio station (they eventually let me keep it).
		Magic Dirt are one of the most rockin bands in Australia and have begun to be noticed.
		Now i believe that Magic Dirt keep getting better and better, so while there are some amazing tracks on this compile like their breakthrough underground hit "Ice" as well as "Daddy" (both from the "Life Was Better...", there are some odd ones like "choker" from Magic Dirt's first release.

		I'm not one for magic shows, but this guy, with no props, no nothing is awesome.
		I was amazed with the levitation the most, but card/coin tricks were still cool to watch.
