		Magik (Illyana Rasputin) was a Marvel Comics character, associated with the X-Men.
		Magik's body was kept in the stasis gallery at the Panoptichron, until the Exiles took over the timeline fixing operation and sent the bodies of the fallen Exiles and Weapon Xers home.
		Magik had the mutant ability to create "stepping discs", which allowed her to teleport by accessing an alternate dimension and returning to her home dimension in a different place.

		The characterization of Magik, albeit very interesting, might very well impact the way the Exiles feel about her down the road, but won't since Winnick wrote the next arc beforehand.
		I see as a possibility the current plot being an expansion of one of the 1-3 panel summations of alternate reality adventures which had been given at the start of the next plot, but I still think the actions might be a little extreme for what is basically a filler story.

		Being a sci-fi and fantasy (and, of course, comic book) geek, I was naturally drawn to the darker side of divinity, so it was only a matter of time before I broke through my pious restraints and discovered the occult.
		The fact that the Magik series dealt with someone the same age as me (at least by the end of the story), learning to wield powers of the occult, kept me intrigued in the character well beyond those four issues.
		Magik was intended to set up Illyana Rasputin as the next great New Mutant, and in this regard it served its purpose marvelously.

		The fact that Chuck is thinking this means he thinks the Illyana on the bed is in fact a de-aged Magik - ie, the original Illyana at her proper age.
		The Illyana that died IS a de-aged Magik, in which case Magik is really dead.
		The character I loved was Magik, and she (apparently) died way back at the end of Inferno.
