The Odyssey² wasn't as powerful as the Atari 2600 (it was slower, had lower resolution, and supported only one sound channel compared to the 2600's two).
One game in particular (K.C Munchkin see below) generated lawsuits by Atari because of similarities to Pac Man. The Odyssey² still managed to sell millions of consoles and was more popular in Europe where it was also called the G7000 Videopac.

The Odyssey2 had a unique feature to it, a build in keyboard to play some more educational games and you can even edit some of your different games too thanks to all the options the system as.
Many Magnavox games were even getting better by 1981 thanks to the cartridges now getting improved memory, this means you could actually keep score of your games (this is not the same as battery back up so don't get too excited) which fixed many complaints of the earlier Odyssey2 games.
The Odyssey2 Voice Adapter was not only compatible with certain games but you can also use it with the system's keyboard to test the voices out thanks to another program, there was nothing else quite like it for its time and it really made the Odyssey2 look quite advance for it's day.

It was released in 1978, and was intended to compete with Atari's VCS (Video computer System) also known as the 2600, which was released the year before.
Phillips released The Odyssey 2 in Canada, not Magnavox, and it seems that it was a completely different endeavour since most of the cartridges are in both languages, and do not contain pictures like the US versions.
Knowing that the system was less powerful than the others out at the same time, the main focus was it's keyboard.

Magnavox didn't give up without a fight though against Atari's brutal assault, they just released a sequel to KC Munchkin in 1982 called KC Krazy Chase.
The Odyssey2 almost virtually no thrid party support either meaning you will not find any big name games on the system you will know about.
The KC games are awesome and the system's features were ahead of their time but you should still buy with caution.
