Since magnet links are an open standard for all (peer to peer) applications, there are hash types in some magnets that DC++ cannot handle.

 limaCAT's Weekly News
I will bookmark the Magnet page for re-reviewing when I will be able to understand what I can do with it (now I am simply a little uninspired by it), but the most important stuff I found are Bitzi/Bitcollider.
Looking for info about Skype on Linux, I landed on the Kazaa website, from which I learned about the Magnet Uri Scheme and about Bitzi Bitcollider and Bitprint.
While Bitzi is still not the thing I am looking for, it is still an interesting site for people looking about content distribution (yes, leaving all the durty wereaz stuff aside).
