From 1991 to 1996, Magnus completed her thesis work which was supported by NASA-Lewis Research Center through a Graduate Student Fellowship and involved investigations on materials of interest for “Scandate” thermionic cathodes.
Magnus is currently working with the Canadian Space Agency to prepare the Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator for installation on the ISS.
Magnus operated the space station’s robotic arm during the three spacewalks required to outfit and activate the new component.

Johnson, a native Kentuckian and distinguished surgeon, left his medical practice in California and traveled to Beas, India, in order to serve his guru, Sawan Singh From 1933 to 1939, Johnson devoted much of his time to writing about his master and his experiences in the Radha Soami path.
Johnson's first work, With a Great Master in India, was a compilation of letters he had written to Americans about his first eighteen months in India studying under the master.

Magnus enlisted in the Royal Navy in January 1940 and he was sent to the naval training camp HMS Royal Arthur in Yorkshire, where he was to train as a telegraphist.
He was given inoculations and sent on fourteen days home leave, but this draft was cancelled and Magnus was sent to join H.M.S. Wastwater in Aberdeen where she had just returned from Narvik, where she was involved in the evacuations of British troops.
Whilst in Narvik the crew had raided the NAFFI and on return to Aberdeen the ship was put in debt which meant that they were on meagre rations, until they reached the USA.

I have tried to find his birth in Helsingborg but without any success as there are several entries for Magnus Johnson but there is a bit of a mix up with parents names and some of the Magnus Johnson's born in Helsingborg died as children.
Magnus Johnson was working on the forecastle of the Isaac Pennock pulling in a head rope, he became entangled in the rope and was dragged through the winch.
Magnus was taken to Glasgow General hospital where he died the next day 1st December (his wife's 30th birthday) from a broken neck.
