List of national parks in Africa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
National parks can be found in a large majority of African countries, being most numerous in Gabon, Kenya and Tanzania.
The nature of the parks varies considerably not only between countries but also within some nations – the degree of protection, accessibility and type of environment for which it is intended to deliver protection.
Some parks have been cleared of their original human population, others have always been essentially uninhabited, while yet others contain significant population centres.

An Assessment of Ethiopia's Wildlife Situation
Park Wardens had only to point a finger for areas of National Parks land overrun by local villagers cultivation and livestock, to be vacated.
Park Wardens are unable to do anything since the Government of Ethiopia seems to be not interested in the fate of the Wildlife.
The human settlements within the park, along the plateau above the cliffs, which re-started immediately after the former Mengistu regime was defeated, continues to be cultivated and grazed by the ever-increasing flocks of livestock.

The Status & Distribution of Remaining Wild Dog Populations
Indeed, the population in Hwange National Park was increasing in the period 1990-2 (Davies 1992).
Wild dogs are fairly common in Kafue National Park (22,500km²), with frequent sightings in the southern command of the Park, and the southern part of the northern command (Buk 1994; Munyenyembe and Tembo 1992).
The Park is composed of soudano-guinean savannah and dry woodland, and is bordered by a large buffer area, and the Falemé hunting area: together these make up a protected area of nearly 25,000km² which borders the Badiar National Park in Guinea (380km²).

 Summary of Impacts
Ethiopia's National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries, the reasons they were established, occurrence of conservation projects, the period of armed conflict, and a list of damages and losses during the 1991 transition period (Hillman, 1993a,b; Jacobs and Schloeder, 1993).
Furthermore, reports and data from Awash National Park substantiated the hypothesis that hunting by the military was a factor in the decline of several species (Figure 3) (Jacobs and Schloeder, 1993).
As was the case in the Awash National Park, encroachment in Bale also led to competition between wildlife and livestock, the displacement of wildlife, and illegal hunting (Hillman, 1991).

As monitoring of the project in Mago National Park progresses throughout the next year, a similar proposal for Omo National Park will be considered.
Prior to the submission of the proposal, TMF was given the task of researching the status of Mago’s elephant population including threats to their existence and constraints of park managers and of devising a strategic conservation plan that would address the issue of declining herd numbers.
The Park will receive funds to hire 14 new scouts, a new 4-wheel drive vehicle, and a variety of new equipment such as radios and global positioning units.

According to legend, a fairy named Mago visited this place (thus its name which means 'flying fairy place').
During spring, the smell of mountain blossoms fills the canyon; in summer, freshness of greenery is felt everywhere.
Seorak-san's craggy peaks are often shrouded in mist, creating a "see of clouds" effect seen in many pictures of the area.

 Carla Perrotti - Viaggi
Proposal for the itinerary: At this time is not possible to repeat the trip along the river like Carla did, but is possible to follow a similar route by land in the Mago National Park area, where is possible to find the ethnic groups and animals described above.
Descending the river took about a week, but the full duration of the trip was of almost a month the first time and of a month and a half the second time, on the river the group had to walk toward the inside of the forest to reach another very interesting population: The Surma.
At this route it is also interesting the addition of a trekking on the plateaus, following the same route of Carla to reach the Surma.
